Communication unit’s job description

1-review newspapers, domestic and provincial press to create news bulletin containing selection of highlights prioritizing subjects related to university or corresponding ministry and other essential cases to inform university high ranks and archive them

2-search for press articles in which public criticism can reveal weaknesses in various parts or public opinion about the university.in line with correspondence and follow up related authority to rectify current imperfections, necessary explanations to enlighten the public mind through that media will be made and sent.

3-create network of public relations liaisons in corresponding subdominant units of the university and put them under constant training to:

A)   consultation to appoint the liaisons and hold face and phone sessions to enlighten and arrange them

B)   acquire necessary information in regard to events, significant news and performance of each university sector and complete the information in news bank  of public relations through sending needed reports by related liaison to the central public relations

C)   carry out desired orders by central public relations in related units such as sending notifications and informing the personnel or holding some events in units in coordination with public relations of the university

 

 

4-Prepare and submit news, news reports, reply and deny letters to the media about events, programs and other articles needed by university for the press such as job ads, public invitations to a university event,subpoenas, health tips, news coverage for congresses and etc..

 

 

5-gather the needed information for reporters and news broadcasters and cooperating with them such as coordination to make a report depending on the need and request by each media.Coordination with different university units and authorities to make reports and conduct interviews by press, national TV and radio and media.

 

 

6-primary correspondence, acquire information necessary to prepare, type all the local news ,reports,content  and publication of (Nasim) in the specified  time periods

 

 

7-holding round-table meetings and TV and press conferences with university authorities in regard to important plans or other necessary cases for press and media coverage

8-arrange interviews by public relations or media reporters with each authority of various sectors according to the necessity and discretion of senior management of the university.

9-holding periodical sessions with public relations from related organizations in the province such as welfare,red cross,Fasa andJahrommedical colleges,blood transfusion,public insurance and cure services

10-cooperation to hold some events such as before and after the event, inviting related authorities and executing some parts of the ceremonies such as clerks’ day, students praise, and welcome ceremonies for the authorities.

11-study, follow up and final answering to public complaints dispatched by respective ministry public relations and attended cases

12- Information on programs related to direct communication between managers and employees according to received notifications from respective ministries as well as prepares and conduct Q/A meetings between the authorities and the personnel

13-handle correspondence and follow-up between university and some departments according to necessity and to communicate outside the university for example correspondence between university and Fars government in order to carry out some activities such as annual Fajr Decade commemoration or health week and etc..

14-sector-to-sector coordination and correspondence to subordinate units in line with some of the required university activities for instance preparing performance reports to be presented to the respective ministry, sent to the Relevant authorities after necessary correspondence are obtained and codified .

15-Arrange regular trips to different towns in Fars province and report news from healt centers along with interviews with authorities and personnel to report back to university senior management and print in the news magazine “ Nasim”

16- Participation and accompany thehonorable university president visiting subordinate units and prepare visit reports as well as receive and follow up correspondence from their personnel presented to the university president 

17- Prediction,planning, monitoring and provision of radio and television programs related to Medical Sciences University and health and cure in Fars province in three categories – news, scientific education and authorities responding to the public in three formats:

a)    Programs related to Fars Radio and Television Organization’s information and news unit such as daily radio and television news and scientific research news

b)    Radio programs such as “ Sobh o zendegi( Morning and Life)”, “Asraneh(Afternoon)”, “ Mardomvamasoolin(Public and Authorities)”, “GoftegooyePezeshki(Medical discussion)” and …

c)    Television programs such as “ MajalePezeshki (Medical Magazine)”, “Shabhaye Fars( Fars Nights)”, “Baztab(Reflection)” and etc..some of the mentioned programs such as radio programs “GoftegooyePezeshki(Medical discussion)” , “Behdasht and Zendegi(Health and Life)”  and television program “ MajalePezeshki (Medical Magazine) are all weekly and Shiraz Universiy of Medical Sciences exclusive and the others programs are urgently allocated to it.

It is necessary to add the planning and provision of continuous radio and television programs such as “ MajalePezeshki (Medical Magazine), “GoftegooyePezeshki(Medical discussion)” and Behdasht and Zendegi(Health and Life)” includes divergent steps and we highlight a brief note on execution process:

1-17-Correspondence and inquiries from the heads of departments of university and inregard to scientific and educational requirements for public

 

 

2-17- Prepare the medical issues table with priority themes of mortality and risk of      illness and disease in Fars Province as well as seasonal diseases in an expert committee

3-17- Select the desired Professors with respect medical issues table and made inquiries from heads of departments of university

4-17- Execute the process of correspondence and telephone contact with each desired professors and define a time to each program and professor with respect to their willingness to participate in the program, their free time, relevant issues and eventually prepare the proposed table of issue

5-17- Send the above proposed table to Video and Audio Broadcasting Center  in Fars province and meet  with relevant officials on the program content, the executor, how to run the programs, video resources, breaks and ….

6-17- Cooperation with producers and authorities concerned, to provide any required public reports, in coordination with the visiting professor, recording the breaks needed, prepare reports from desired scientific centers and similar cases and Provide scientific-executive advice in any other field .

7-17- program execution

18-cooperation or execution of other programs such as health provision benevolent society, Bam earthquake news coverage and etc…
